An example of humanity: Dr. Arvind Kumar took full responsibility for the child's cancer treatment
Dr. Arvind Kumar rescued a critically ill child and brought him to Buddha Cancer Centre, where he will receive complete free cancer treatment.
Buddha Cancer Centre, Patna, a leading oncology institution dedicated to delivering evidence-based, patient-centric cancer care, continues to uphold its mission of accessible healthcare for all. In a remarkable act of compassion and professional commitment, Dr. Arvind Kumar-Director of the Centre and a distinguished medical oncologist-has undertaken full responsibility for the treatment of a seven-year-old child diagnosed with cancer.
Ensure immediate medical assistance-
The incident occurred recently at Patliputra Railway Station, Patna, when Dr. Kumar, while returning home from duty, encountered the child, identified as MD Farooq, in a critical and visibly distressed condition. Recognizing the urgency, Dr. Kumar personally transported the child and his parents to Buddha Cancer Centre in his own vehicle, ensuring immediate medical intervention without delay.
A strong and humane resolve to bear the entire cost of the child's treatment-
Subsequent diagnostic evaluations confirmed that the child was suffering from lymphoma, a serious malignancy of the lymphatic system. The family, facing acute financial hardship and lacking access to government healthcare schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, was unable to afford the necessary treatment. In response, Dr. Kumar made a decisive and humane commitment to cover the entire cost of the child’s treatment, ensuring uninterrupted, high-quality care.
As medical professionals, our responsibility extends far beyond clinical care-
Speaking on this initiative, Dr. Arvind Kumar, Founder of Buddha Cancer Centre stated, “Every life deserves a fighting chance, irrespective of financial or social circumstances. As medical professionals, our responsibility extends beyond clinical care—it is about empathy, dignity, and standing with patients in their most vulnerable moments. This is not an act of charity, but a duty towards humanity.”
Reflecting the values that define the vision of Budd Cancer Centre-
